Claire Samson

Claire graduated in Psychology and Management Studies from Cambridge University in 2007. She spent six months managing the development of mypeoplebiz.com, a start-up combining social networking with recruitment, before joining the global strategy consultancy Booz & Co. in 2008. She worked with a number of clients across the private and public sectors in the UK, US and Germany as well as leading projects with non-profits including the British Red Cross and the award-winning teen music & multimedia business initiative Blastbeat.

Claire first joined London Music Masters through a full-time secondment to the charity for 10 months in 2009, during which she worked in an advisory capacity on a number of key initiatives. In January 2011 she returned to take up the new position of Chief Operating Officer & Finance Director. During 2011 Claire is also participating in a series of training sessions with On Purpose, an organisation which equips aspiring leaders with the experience, skills and networks they need to make a real difference in purpose-driven organisations and to become future mangers, employers and innovators in the sector.

Music has always been a huge part of Claire’s life. During her time at Cambridge she held a music scholarship at New Hall College, a choral scholarship with the Fitzwilliam College Chapel Choir and led the flute section in the University orchestras (CUMS I and CUMS II) under Stephen Cleobury and Peter Stark. She has toured extensively in Europe and the US and has sung with the award winning choir Chantage, with whom she has recorded an album, assisted in choral workshops with Eric Whitacre and participated in a number of performances and recordings for the BBC. Claire participated in Office Musician of the Year in 2010 and currently sings with Londinium City Voices and the Choir of St. Peter's Vauxhall.
