Rhuti Carr

Rhuti gained a scholarship to study oboe at the Royal College of Music and graduated in 2006. Later that year she founded Painting Music, a music and visual arts performance group which went on to gain five star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival as well as being awarded an Editors' Award given to "the most exciting and innovative elements of the Festival".

 

Rhuti also leads Painting Music's outreach programme working with schools, festivals, hospitals, RCM Sparks, Mencap and the BBC and was featured in Time Out's "Children's Top Ten".

 

Currently Principal oboe with the Handel Collection, Rhuti performs across the country as a soloist and chamber musician as well as teaching, coaching and conducting throughout London.
