BBC Proms | 7 September

Bridge, Sir Harrison Birtwistle & Holst:  This Prom promises to demonstrate the sheer diversity of British music with the UK premiere of Birtwistle’s “Concerto for Violin an Orchestra”, Bridge’s “Isabella”- a beautiful symphonic poem featuring some passionate string writing, and culminating in Holst’s astounding “The Planet’s”, with the extensiveness of the orchestra (including some instruments not usually found in the orchestra, such as the much underused euphonium!) producing some incredible sonorous sound. This truly is one prom not to be missed.

7pm: Royal Albert Hall. Tickets from £8.50 with promming on the day for just £5.
