Last week a special trip for Years 3 & 4 children from Ashmole and Jessop schools proved that the Bridge Project is not always about violins!

In Year 3 some children decide to move on to a new instrument and they have now become budding young clarinettists, flautists and trumpeters. Our creative partner, the Royal College of Music kindly invited these children to visit a wind ensemble rehearsal to hear and see these instruments and provide a little inspiration and we were delighted to take them up on their offer.

The children received a very warm welcome from the RCM and as well as listening to the rehearsal, had a chance to ask questions about the instruments and meet the players. We were also lucky enough to see some original manuscripts by Haydn and Vaughan Williams in the RCM library as well as visiting the museum of instruments.

It was such an inspiration for the children to hear some beautiful wind playing and to visit the Royal College of Music.

We hope to be back very soon!
